Overview
A truck off the road is a truck not earning, which is why this work is done where the vehicle is rather than at a workshop.
Truck windscreens differ from car windscreens in more than size. Many are held in a heavy rubber locating seal rather than bonded to the body, and a good number of trucks use a two piece split screen where each half is replaced separately. Cab height also means the job is worked at a different level to a car.
We replace glass on light and medium commercial trucks and on machinery cabs, and we work around the access and safety requirements of the site we are attending.
Trucks cover long distances and often work around loose surfaces, so windscreen damage is common.
The large spans of glass used on trucks let a crack travel quickly once it starts.
Damage in the driver’s field of view is a problem for roadworthiness, and the truck cannot stay in service with it.
Loading knocks, branches and site debris can break cab glass outright.
Once the rubber locating seal has gone hard, the screen leaks and no longer sits securely.
On the day
We attend the yard, depot or worksite where the truck is parked. We need level ground, clear access to the front of the cab and enough room to handle a large piece of glass safely. Let us know when you book if the site has induction requirements, restricted hours or a gate procedure, so the visit is not held up.

We need the make, model and year, the type of damaged glass, your suburb and a photo of the damage where possible. Registration details are sometimes needed to match the correct glass.
Once the details are confirmed we agree a time and location, attend the vehicle, complete the work and check the finished fit before we leave.
